the chef's final dance

The singapore chef association dinner and dance was definitely a night to remember with delicious food and plenty of smiles to show. It's been such a long time the five of us are able to gather and chill out. 1H10 rocks, remembering the old days, well the days in year one that we as in tung tung, wuuuuuuuuuuuu peilin, fooker and xavier pronounced as zaa-vear sit around and crap away. somewhere on this blog i believe there is a set of constipated photos that we took in the canteen and that's memories. opps, i decided to take a petitie tour of my blog and the pictures are not there. *gasps*. i shall post them up some time on sunday.

miss wu peilin was as usual, late. therefore she missed out on all the fun we had at the black jack and roulette table winning soooo many chips that when combined with shawn's and a few others, our table were crowned king of gambles at the dinner. and oh oh oh peilin wore a dress!!! my gawd, never in my life i expected to see her in a dress man. it was all aunty fashion for like ever since i knew her, maybe it wasn't so bad in the first semester but then it got worst.

What a night, simple yet memorable. it's hard to enjoy the practices of the old days when school's driving you nuts with projects and being seperated into different classes do not help much either.

Life is meither here nor there for me now, i am losing it man. thinking of the exams coming soon just drives me nuts. sometimes i really wonder whether sleeping at ungodly hours will screw up my mind and lifestyle. hehe. these days i really can't seem to sleep. its always the feeling that i could just open my eyes and get up any moment, the feeling og just clsing your eyes and not sleeping. Man, i used to enjoy sleeping sooo much.

Later in the night i have my airport duty and truthfully i dredge it. CAAS no longer has the usual CSOs working for the airport and the new ones are really unprofessional and their service levels do not match up to those set by the previous ladies. I miss those CSOs that i worked with in the past, chatted with them during boring days and kept each other busy with jokes or interesting things to talk about. their service standard was good, there's style and grace. The new CSOs are like gosh, don't wanna mention much, some are good but on the overall CAAS needs to get them polished more.

Well the world moves on although sometimes i am unwilling to. why can't all good things remina and stay the same forever? well maybe let it last longer. the rain has been falling for the past week and although many places are flooding i kinda enjoy the showers and cloudy skies with nice cool and chillin breezes. while it's raining, i often get into the kind of mood where u just sip your ot cuppa tea and stare out the window into the grey sky listening to the tipping and tapping of the rain. clear your thoughts, get into the dreamy mood.

a night to remember

nights like these you will wished it never end. dinner at Prego was deliciously sinful, i had a creme of mushroom soup and linguine allo scoglio. the soup was somewhat different from what you xpect from a creme soup, the one i drank was a perfect blend of creme and mushroom but then i could feel the fine bits of mushrooms. the linguine on the other hand was a bit disappointing but the ravioli stuffed with veal that clarris had was good man. and oh, the champagne by charles heidsieck that mr neo gave us was wonderful with the italian cuisine, thanks.

Exciting, the first time i stepped into balcony bar. never really had the chance to patronise the bar before due to various reasons blah blah blah. the inside of the bar was cozy with dim lighting and sofa chairs with plenty of big huggable cushions, oh yeah. there we ate the log cake and gossiped away, sinful yet again. i love the staind glass lamps that they have at balcony bar, it reminds me of harry potter and the magical world of wizardry.

i loved nights like these, sipping my coffee or cocktail just enjoying the breeze of the night and for once in numerouse busy days, enjoy the leisure pace of time. the delightful feeling is highten when the heavens decides to let it rain. i remember last thursday after watching curse of the golden flower, we sat at coffee bean and tea leaf just at the side of paragon sipping coffe and chatting away. the rain was falling like its never gonna end while the only crowd around us was at swensen's across the street, the air was cool and crisp while the sound of the rain was soothing to the mind. i often find myself staring into space under such atmosphere.

oh la la, the year is coming to an end soon and i am soooo gonna travel the moment the school holidays arrived. omg i can hear nihon calling my name, cherry blossoms and ancient shrines in rustic forest, my heart flutters. i wanna climb up mount fuji and see the sunrise, stand amongst the green forest of trees in shirakami sanshi or to cross Shinkyo Bridge that reminds me of spirited away. the thought of traveling just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. and oh, i really hope tha i can do my overseas attachment in nihon, the colours of scarlet on the trees, awesome.

picture says a million words. and oh, merry christman tralalalalala ;)

Food... Glorious Food!!!

Friday nights are nights where moolahs are milked and all beautiful food are eaten in the name of pure bliss and enjoyment. therefore the 8th of December 2006 like any other friday nights, are meant for what it was meant for.

Bakerzin never fails to impress me with her array of deliciously sexy desserts from tiramisu to banana pizzas and even panna cotta. oh and i still can't forget that rendevous with the foret noir, shall go savor it once more next week. The tiramisu i had on friday evening, it was 4pm then, was comparable to the one i had at canele patisserie, only that canele's one had the coffee liqueur concoction oozing out of the sponge when you slice the cake down with your fork.

Two hours later we were having dinner at ichiban boshi. i forgot what i ordered but when the bento set came, it was like this little table of ours can't hold so much food. But nevertheless we managed to finsh everything, including the orange slices. Thank goodness we did some walking here and there and everywhere around orchard road. Oh a, alley bar is cool man but its a shame the place was packed on friday night. settled for Rouge outdoors and there i had a simple lychee martini...

the live band at indochine wisma atria was even more fabulouse on this friday night, there was a group of caucasians who were obviously high from all the drinking, the ladies were dancing in front of the stage and the rest were at the sofa seats shaking their bons bons. free entertainment along with really nice songs sang and my bubbly glass of champagne, make that two glasses ;P

I just loved sitting at that place, listening o the live band and sipping my what ever drink i am having, the mood there just seems so right for not having any thoughts. another good thing is that the outdoor place is small and it doesnt really overcrowd, so even on a full house evening, the place is still lively and cool.

Tomorrow's accounting and finance paper, studied and i just gonna sit for it. there's a limti to how much studying i can do in one day. and oh, i watched The Davinci Code yesterday in my bedroom.

Once again ladies and gentlemen, time flies

I know i know... its been more than a month since i last gave you pictures to enjoy and words comprehand. the major projects are finally over and i am talking about the joint facilities management and lodging systems and operations project. the report was madness, the presentation was no less better. Imagine hearts beating in fear of getting shot dead by questions which were knifes in disguise. Thankfully i survived~

School was getting kinda sick and tired that i felt like escaping, flying away on an airplane to some nice european city with cobblestone streets and victoria buildings. Competition and the pressure on me to score well to get an overseas internship chance is really making me how do i put it, really tired. Oh i so wanna do OSIP in seoul or in japan. taipei's cool too.

Class tests were all over the place, had to study here and there and everywhere. Luckily i didn't do badly for any of them... did pretty well infact, even though the studying was last minute and the mind was tired. I detest class test as one not so good grade can cause my mood to swing into depression~

November is the month when love is in the air for the peafowls. Indian Blue Peafowls are everywhere in the school man, the display of eye gazing feathers bring joy to my camera. the whole darn season lasted for nearly a month, and at some point the gals were losing interest in the boy who was still trying hard to shake those feathers. I was tempted to pluck one of those beautiful long feathers out but refrained from doing so after thinking what the peacock is capable of. You need to have an escape route planned before attempting, and when they parade around the school in number, don't even try as you never know what that few might do~

And oh, i have to say that i have sinned greatly, sleep and cakes are like freshair and sunshine to some. Friday nights are the nights where i go splurge on food especially cakes. Delicious sexy sinful little slices that will blow you away, makes my mind scream silently in excitment and the taste is oh so... i can't seem to find the word to express. Fridays are also the days i will visit the supermarkets and mind you, its with an "s"~

I bought some japanses instant curry and one of it was a bit on the salty side while the other, i have not tried yet. I love supermarkets, countless food in different packages screaming out to you to pick them up and see what's it actually and purchase them. At times you will find small surprises of interesting biscuits and chocolates that looks so delicious and the best thing is you've never seen them before or never knew the supermarket had them. I enjoy the dilema of deciding which strawberry jam to buy or which biscuit i should try this time, gosh i sound like an granny sipping tea on a chilly night~

Have i mentioned before how i loved the night, when the world is sleeping... ok maybe when the majority of Singapore is sleeping and you're awake to the night's silence and cool breezes. When the moon shines brightly and so gorgeous that the craters are so distinct in shades of grey. Listening to the radio while doing my projects or even just simply chatting with my friend over a cuppa earl grey tea with some biscuits or bread~

I have to say but chillin out on friday nights really take some stress out of me. during the busiest week when everyone is going nuts over the fm/lodging project, i had to take friday off and ease the stress away. Dinner was alway the major concern while i made my way to meet up with my friend, then came the petit slices of cakes and after that drinks. the live band at indochine wisma atria was great, the music and the sipping of my champange was simply yet so enjoyable.
