one of twenty something



i have been thinking of baking something with lemons and what comes to mind besides a lemon meringue pie is a classic pound cake with the citrus tang of lemons that will get you dazzled along with a refreshing aroma and flavour that is light and ideal for supper or high tea with a cuppa hot earl grey or english tea. i love the aroma of lemons especially when i'm zesting them, sometimes i feel like rubbing some reminaing zest in my palm just for the aroma.

i added the zest of one sunkissed orange to give it a more exciting flavour with at the same time the zest gives some interesting bite if you're lucky enough to get one. although lemons are sour in nature but choose yours well and be rewarded with a rich aroma yet delicious enough to enjoy without the slap in the face sourness. feel the lemons with the tips of your fingers with minimal pressure, the skin should be thin and the lemon seems to burst if you press any harder.
